Ascent 2017: Goal-Setters Set Sail for the Bahamas

ASEA Ascent showed off a much-anticipated mellow side last month by trading in its traditional mountain-topping for subtropical island-hopping aboard the Enchantment of the Seas (a Vision-class cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean). On June 26, deserving associates ranking Bronze and up converged on the port of call in Miami, Florida to enter their floating vacation home.

Over the course of five balmy, beachy, Bahama-bound days, this year’s Ascent Class couldn’t get enough of the indoor, outdoor, and underwater amenities, not least of which was invaluable training time with ASEA Founder and President Tyler Norton. His elucidation of ethos was masterful—and was magnificently followed by the sharing of appreciative outlooks from thankful associates in attendance.

Of the three Bahamian ports visited in exotic succession, Coco Cay was the consensus favorite. On this private island, Ascent-level associates and ASEA leadership mixed volleyball, excursions, and conversations into a world-class Wednesday they won’t soon forget.

“The whole trip is empowering, it’s leisure, it’s the whole package.” —Gladys O. Asante, Platinum Executive

Ascent Bahamas Cruise - 2017

For those who worked hard to earn this year’s Ascent trip, the Bahama cruise was far from the only reward they received. In conversations overheard around the ship and shore, a common sentiment expressed was that the promotional lead-up to this grand event inspired significant organizational growth, allowing these leaders to impact more lives and improve their own practices.

“Participation in this program helped me to stay focused and improve aspects that needed to be sharpened. From that perspective, it was very stimulating.” —Giordano Ghilardi, Double Diamond Executive
