When ASEA’s team of volunteers set off to Ecuador last year to help CHOICE Humanitarian build a vocational school for a struggling community, they didn’t realize how impactful the experience would actually be. The trip wasn’t glamourous or relaxing, but it was life-changing.

Last year’s attendees of the Advancing Life expedition to Ecuador invite you to participate in this memorable experience this summer.

“This was the most powerful thing my wife and I have done together, EVER. The sacrifices we both made to volunteer in Ecuador, on so many levels, outweigh anything we could have imagined. I came back from Ecuador a new husband, a new dad, a new man, and a new person with a new love for ASEA and the executives who run ASEA,” Shawn Burke said.

In Ecuador, we made a difference beyond the molecules—we made a difference in making education possible in that part of the world so that young people can learn trades and practice their trades in their community as opposed to leaving for the city, looking for opportunity.”

“The things I learned about myself, my wife, and the people in Ecuador have molded me into the person I always wanted to be. The work is not done. My wife and I plan to go on the expedition in July 2018 to finish the work we started, not just on the vocational school, but on ourselves.”

Villagers will welcome into their community with open arms.

You’ll spend five days in the village working on the school and getting to know the community you’re serving. The groups in June and July will mostly be working on the first classroom building of the school. Participants will enjoy two-and-a-half days of sight seeing the lush environment before coming home.

2018 Expeditions

There are two expeditions planned for 2018, happening 22 – 30 June and 13 – 21 July. Both expeditions still have openings.

Cost

This opportunity is $1495 USD (airfare not included). A $300 USD deposit due on sign up, and final payment is due 60 days before the expedition.
