If you’ve ever signed up for a service or bought a product that didn’t live up to expectations, you’re familiar with empty hype. In network marketing, this hype can come as exaggerated claims of income and lifestyle perks without any mention of the daily discipline required to achieve it.
“In an industry focused on hype, what if instead we focus on hope?” asked ASEA Founder Tyler Norton last year. “We’re no longer just promoters trying to get people to do something.”
“We need to move from hype to hope,” urges Tyler. “And it can’t be false hope. It needs to be anchored in a better future, anchored in potential.” To each individual, that will mean something personal. It may be financial, it may be about general well-being. “If someone has a belief that there can be something better in the future than their current experience,” Tyler continues, “then you will see action.”
Focus on hope, which leads to hard work
When you know you’re part of something that makes the world a better place by improving people’s lives—through exceptional products, opportunity, and lifestyle—it’s easier to put in daily work. Knowing your efforts will pay off not only for you but for everyone you interact with, and understanding the nature of what we do at ASEA, means being in the business of hope.
Think about what it takes to offer real hope. We need to know and understand what ASEA offers, but we also need to know and understand each person with whom we interact. Throwing out pie-in-the-sky hypotheticals that don’t correspond to an individual’s specific situation, is hype. Meeting people where they are—now that leads to hope.
The truth about running your own business is that it takes hard work. It’s not a lottery ticket. Persistence and consistency are the things that lead to success. Once you get your business going, things tend to get easier, but in the beginning, it takes guts and grit to get things moving. When building your ASEA business you want to start with a solid foundation, setting the right expectations for yourself, your team, and your prospects.
Productivity produces your paycheck
The advantage of running your own ASEA business is that you get to choose your own hours and be part of a compassionate community that encourages you and helps you reach your best potential. And there is no glass ceiling. Rather than pitting employees against one another in the corporate grind, you are actually rewarded for your hard work and no one can take that away from you.
Personal activity is key to your success. If you want to succeed, you can. Imagine what you can do in the next one or two years working hard at your ASEA business. How does that compare to what you expect to find in the corporate world? If you see the same astounding difference so many of our ASEA leaders have, then you have the potential for something great.
