ASEA Announces New Life Science Research Lab and Expanded Scientific Advisory Council and Medical Professionals Board

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, September 29, 2020/ PRNewswire/ – ASEA, a global leader in redox technology, announced a new life science research lab along with an expanded scientific advisory council and medical professionals board.

Announced by ASEA’s founder Tyler Norton, the new Verdis L. Norton Center for Redox Life Sciences will serve as the center for all redox life science research and development. “The lab is named after and dedicated to the founder, my father Verdis, who was the first to build a global company committed to promoting the powerful principles of redox and, ultimately, the powerful benefits of ASEA products,” said Tyler Norton. “It will not only serve as a lab for existing redox signaling technology but will also serve as an incubator lab for the development of new redox technologies.”

As these new redox discoveries are cultivated in this lab, ASEA will leverage outside strategic third-party labs across the world to further develop and establish these innovations.

The expanded Science Advisory Council for ASEA include third-party scientific professionals each with unique knowledge and expertise around innovation, skin care, nutrition, and redox science.

Brooke Alpert, M.S., R.D., C.D.N.
A nationally recognized nutrition expert and author, Brooke Alpert has a Masters of Science from NYU. She completed her training at Mt. Sinai Hospital in affiliation with NYU. She is featured regularly on national television, including appearances on The Doctor Oz Show, The Today Show, and Access Hollywood. She has also been quoted and featured in both national and international magazines including: People, Shape, Glamour, Town & Country, and Tatler. Brooke was named an up-and-coming star in the beauty and health field by W magazine. She resides in New York City with her husband and two daughters.

Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D., C.N.S.
As one of the world’s foremost experts in functional and integrative medicine, Ann Louise Gittleman holds an M.S. in Nutrition Education from Columbia University, has the title of Certified Nutrition Specialist (C.N.S.) from the American College of Nutrition and a Ph.D. in Holistic Nutrition. She has also served as the Chief Nutritionist of Pediatric Clinic at Bellevue Hospital and is the former Director of Nutrition at the Pritikin Longevity Center in Santa Monica, CA. She has won numerous awards, including The American Medical Writers Association Award for Excellence. Mojgan Moddaresi, Ph.D., FRSB, Cbiol, MRSB, MSCS, MBTS
Dr. Mojgan Moddaresi is the director of Personal Care Regulatory Ltd., a regulatory compliance company based in Cambridge, UK. She is a pharmacist in training (PharmD) with a Ph.D in cosmetic science. Her research focused on application of nanotechnology to enhance the efficacy of cosmetic product from natural origin. After her Ph.D, she had experience working in a cosmetic contract manufacturer (London) and a biopharmaceutical company (Cambridge). She is a Chartered biologist (CBiol) and a Fellow of Royal society of Biology (FRSB). She is also a full member of Society of Cosmetic Scientists, UK (SCS) and the honorary treasurer of the SCS, UK.

Steven Ross Murray, D.A.
Dr. Steven Ross Murray is the Director of the Physical Education Program and a Professor of Teaching in the College of Letters and Science at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama in physical education, his master’s and doctoral degrees from Middle Tennessee State University in wellness and fitness and physical education, respectively. Dr. Murray previously was a Professor and former Head of the Department of Kinesiology, and Acting Dean of the School of Business and Professional Studies at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. Dr. Murray is the author of Wellness for Life and Fitness Walking. In addition to his books, he has published over 150 articles in academic journals and other periodicals. He has been a reviewer, contributing editor, editor-in-chief, and invited referee for several publishing companies and academic journals.

Charareh Pourzand, Ph.D., DSc, FHEA, FRSB
Charareh Pourzand, DSc, FHEA, FRSB is an internationally recognized academic scientist who leads research in the field of Skin Photobiology and Biopharmaceutics for over twenty years at the University of Bath (United Kingdom). She is the Theme Leaders of ‘Medicines Design’ at the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology and ‘Medicines Development’ at the Centre for Therapeutic Innovation (CTI) of the University of Bath. She is also the Co-Chair of the International Skin@Bath Network and Vice-Chair of the ‘Energy and Metabolism’ panel of the Biochemical Society (United Kingdom). With several collaborative studies at the biology-chemistry interface, she has established herself as a truly multidisciplinary researcher with unique expertise in the field of oxidative stress, iron and redox homeostasis of the skin. She has published several research articles and patents in this field. Dr. Pourzand completed her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and postdoctoral trainings in Switzerland at the Universities of Neuchatel, Lausanne and Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer research.

Robertson D. Ward, M.D.
Robertson Ward, M.D., is an internationally known physician, author, and researcher. He has been involved in more than a dozen Phase III clinical trials in a wide variety of medical studies, from hypertension to fibromyalgia. He is also a recognized expert in the field of redox biochemistry and published Healthy Cells, Healthy Life in 2017 to help health-conscious people understand ways in which this field of science can help advance health. Dr. Ward received his B.S. from Iowa State University and M.D. from University of Illinois Abraham Lincoln School of Medicine. Academic appointments include the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences. He also received Resident of the Year from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Ward is certified on the American Board of Family Practice and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
